Discovering Golden Lane, Prague
You cannot visit the Prague Castle complex without visiting the “Golden Lane”, we won’t let you ! That means you need to choose circuit ‘A’ or ‘B’ – more info on circuits here.
For starters, Golden Lane is is a really cute street from 16th century. The houses now display the old style clothes, furniture and many other items used in that time. It’s as though they were left untouched. Additionally, the small houses are painted in different and flashy colors.
Did someone say ‘torture’ ?
Unfortunately or fortunately, Yes. There’s a house on the most western point, that has a spiral staircase which leads to the Torture Chamber. It felt like a type of museum displaying torture equipment, weapons, chairs and devices of sorts. Interestingly enough, there’s store where you can buy Medieval souvenirs and nice exposition of the clothes that were wearing back in that time. You’ll find lots of war equipment, including lots of Medieval War Armour, usually seen in movies or Game of Thrones for example. Some are quite creative !
How much ?
There is an entrance fee, but the price is included in the $ 25.00cad (Both) with the St Vito’s Church, Prague Castle. Check the various circuit types here.
Do we recommend ?
Absolutely ! Such an interesting place to visit ! It was a really cool experience, the place also has a nice view from Prague city and walking in the small street you will find really cute souvenirs stores too.
