Where : Montmartre, Paris Montmartre is a “Must” while you are in Paris! This district is full of history, on a hill located in Paris’s 18th arrondissement. The main attraction is beautiful Basilica of the Sacré-Coeur which is located at the very top of the hill. There are lots of cafes and restaurants around, the cute ‘Wall of Love’ or ‘Mur des je t’aimes’ in French. The streets are full of artists attempting to sell their drawings and caricatures. Discovering Pont Alexandre III, Paris

Where : Pont Alexandre III- Paris – France We just wanted to give a quick shoutout, because we thought it was one of the most beautiful Bridges we saw in Paris and in Europe. But surely the architect, residents of Paris and the millions of tourists already know that ! After visiting the Eiffel Tower, we walked along the Seine river and stumbled upon the bridge. According to Wikipedia, Pont Alexandre III is one of the most extravagant bridges from Paris and it’s a French Monument historique since 1975 . We agreed and highly recommend to walk through from either side. You will get amazing pictures of the many statues on the structure – exuberant Art Nouveau as we remember

Discovering Montparnasse Cemetery, Paris

Where : Montparnasse Cemetery. Paris, France You might think it’s creepy to visit a cemetery, especially if you’re from a different city or country right !? Believe it or not, as we researched Paris prior to our trip, the cemetery came up a couple of times. Paris (and Prague to give another example) have way more tombstones with lots of history dating back to WW1 & WW2. It demonstrates the tragedies that a war can cause. At the Montparnasse cemetery, you can pick up a “Map” at the entrance, which lists where famous were buried. This is where French singer Serge Gainsbourg’s remains lie. Jardin des Tuileries – Paris – France A beautiful sunny day at Tuileries Garden during spring, The Jardin de Tuileries is a public garden located between the Louvre Museum and Place de la Concorde. We couldn’t have planned it better. A perfect activity on a sunny day, is to grab some lunch/picnic and found a nice spot on the grass to eat. After fuelling up and relaxing, we made our way north-west through the garden and toward the Arc de Triomphe. Discovering les Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris

The “Jardin du Luxembourg” is a beautiful place to visit in Paris. According to Wikipedia the gardens were created in 1612 by Marie de’ Medici the widow of King Henry IV of France. We entered the garden at the most southern point, at the “Fontaine de l’Observatoire”. What was cool about this perspective, is that we were passing through from one end to the other. At the very extremity was the Palace, where you may recall seeing miniature sail boats in the Medici Fountain. A really fun activity for the kids ! Discovering L’île de la Cité, Paris

Ile de la Cité is easily accessible through Notre Dame cathedral or Pont des Arts where you will find the Square du vert-calant and the famous “love-lock”. You know that famous place where locals and tourists attach a “lock” to make a wish or demonstrate their love forever … or something like that! We first noticed l’île de la Cité on the Bateaux-Mouches tour. Passing in front, the island gave us this peaceful impression and we instantly wanted to visit.
