Discovering Batorama, Strasbourg

Where : Batorama, Strasbourg, France We arrived in Strasbourg mid-afternoon and by this time the boat tour was full for the day. As a result, we pre-purchased the tickets for the following morning. It was cloudy and partially raining the next day, so the glass covered boat was the perfect way to tour the city. The tickets for “Batorama Bateaux Promenades” were roughly $ 18.37cad per person (13 euros p/person). Our impression is that, it was really worth our time and money since we were leaving the following day. The boat ride allowed us to see the main points, for example the “Old town” and the modern side of the city, located on the opposite side of the small city.

Discovering Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg, Strasbourg

Where : Strasbourg Cathedral (Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg), Strasbourg, France Once settled in Strasbourg, we immediately left our apartment to visit the city. This is when we tried to get the Batorama boat tour but it was full for the remainder of the day. As we recall, the ticket booth is relatively close to the Notre-Dame Cathedral which became our first tourist attraction. It had just started to rain, so this was the perfect shelter. Discovering Gardens of Versailles

Gardens of Versailles Logistics about the Gardens The gardens have a separate entrance from the Palace. (Here is our Versailles Palace review.) We went on a busy day and to avoid waiting in line, it was suggested to start visiting the gardens first and the Palace later. We are appreciative of this indication, because their suggestion helped us maximize our time. The garden queue was a little messy to enter but was cut by half compared to the Palace queue. Thus, we could immediately access the gardens. Focus everywhere Upon entering the garden you might find it difficult to focus on one unique spot. Everything around is so beautiful, amazing landscapes in the classic French Garden style, beautiful sculptures, secret gardens.

The Petit Trianon in Versailles Pleasantly surprised We came for the Versailles Palace, and returned raving about the Petit Trianon! Since the lineup at the Palace was unbearable, we started sightseeing the Versailles Garden and Petit Trianon. Discovering Les Promenades Plantées, Paris

Where : Le Promenade Plantee (or Coulée verte) – Paris – France This place had invitation written all over it. According to Wikipedia, “La Promenade Plantée” or the “Coulée Verte” was inaugurated in 1993. A 4.7km elevated Park built on the top of the obsolete in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, France. The park is easily accessed by metro. We recommend to visit on a nice day, or at least without rain, which could be tricky in Paris. Luck was on our side since it was a beautiful sunny day when we visited. We appreciated the nice street views.
