Discovering Batorama, Strasbourg

Where : Batorama, Strasbourg, France

We arrived in Strasbourg mid-afternoon and by this time the boat tour was full for the day.  As a result, we pre-purchased the tickets for the following morning.

It was cloudy and partially raining the next day, so the glass covered boat was the perfect way to tour the city. The tickets for “Batorama Bateaux Promenades” were roughly $ 18.37cad per person (13 euros p/person). Our impression is that, it was really worth our time and money since we were leaving the following day.  The boat ride allowed us to see the main points, for example the “Old town” and the modern side of the city, located on the opposite side of the small city.  It would have been nice to rent a bike and discover Strasbourg that way, however we had a short stay and the weather wasn’t cooperating.  Overall, the Batorama allowed us to maximize sightseeing in Strasbourg.  The ticket included an audio-guided tour in many different languages.  It was really practical to select our mother tongue for the tour.

In conclusion, we really liked the tour because gave us an overview of all city (Old and Modern sides) in a dry and comfortable boat ride protected from the rain. Then we could choose which points of the city we wanted to explore on foot.

Our Ratings
Serge: 4+ Eli:  5

Recommend: Yes, good overview of Strasbourg city, the old and new.

Tips:

  1. The boat seating is first come first served.  That said, plan to arrive at the dock in advance to guarantee a window seat.
  2. Taking pictures with window reflection can be a challenge, so bring an appropriate camera.
