Salzburg old town and Mozartplatz were both undergoing some construction when we visited in May of 2017. The square has some restaurants, cafes, a touristic office information where you can get some tips on where to visit. According to one of our pictures, the number 17 on the HopOn HopOff of Old Town tour.
The main attraction here is the Mozart Monument, hence the name of the square. Although not 100% maintained, the statue looked nice with flower decorations. The big kicker is that certain locals don’t like the monument because they say the statue doesn’t look like with the real Mozart.
We recommend a quick visit since Mozartplatz is just next to the Residenz square. Otherwise, there’s just the statue to see here and the square is just OK.
